In 2017, the City of Maple Ridge used a portion of its share of provincial gaming revenue for hosting Chances Maple Ridge to support the Community Network, which provides social services to over 200 members and 80 organizations throughout Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and Katzie. One initiative the organization created was the Elementary School Brown Bag Lunch Program to give lunches to approximately 200 students in need.
