Community spirit is high in the City of Coquitlam. Each year, the City uses a portion of its share of provincial gaming revenue generated at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver to provide support for not-for-profit organizations in the community through the City’s Spirit of Coquitlam Grant program. In spring 2016, 22 projects received a total of $200,529 in funding. These projects focused on events, celebrations and sports hosting applications, as well as initiatives that enrich the community.
Since 2002, the City of Coquitlam has awarded over $7.56 million to approximately 189 different community organizations as part of the program.
