The Laurel Street Works Yard Redevelopment Project

An upgrade to a works yard facility in Burnaby consolidates much of the City's operations and equipment in one place. The Laurel Street Works Yard Redevelopment Project involves replacing an aging facility to enhance service delivery and public safety. The new works yard will be a central facility housing a fleet repair garage, machine shop, plumbing, carpentry, trade shops and maintenance operations. It'll also be home to an Emergency Operations Centre, which will be able to withstand major earthquakes. In 2017, the City of Burnaby allocated over $1,000,000 of its share of provincial gaming revenue to the project it receives for hosting Grand Villa Casino.
