Gaming funds are helping local wheelchair basketball players

Basketball players in wheelchairs

Gaming funds in Langley helped local wheelchair basketball players. Prior to the Timms Community Centre opening in 2016, distance prevented many up-and-coming players from reaching their full potential. Competitive practices and pickup games usually happened in Vancouver, which was too far for many families in the Fraser Valley. But thanks to the City of Langley using approximately $11 million of its share of provincial gaming revenue to help fund construction of the facility, players don't have to travel far any more.
