In a seesaw battle which has seen their odds fluctuate over the last two months, Kamala Harris has jumped ahead as PlayNow’s new betting favourite to win the US Presidential Election over Donald Trump.
Harris went into Tuesday’s televised debate as the underdog (1.90) against former US President Donald Trump (1.83) on PlayNow, but has since re-taken the title of favourite on PlayNow (1.68) against Trump (2.15), with her odds the best they have been since PlayNow began offering bets on the 2024 US election.
Harris (1.33) is the resounding favourite to win the popular vote over Trump on PlayNow (3.20). Where the election will be won or lost lies with key battleground states, including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada and Michigan.
The 2020 US election remains the single biggest betting event in PlayNow’s history, when a record-breaking $4.5 million was wagered across more than 16,000 bets. PlayNow is anticipating similar interest in the 2024 US election, especially in the days leading up to November 5.
