At a time when the pace of life feels faster than ever and online interactions often replace face-to-face conversations, the need for in-person connection has never been more important. It’s why BCLC has made the decision to bring our social purpose – to generate win-wins for the greater good — to life through shared moments of human connection. In short, it is this belief and this work that shapes everything we do—from how we treat our people, to how we serve our players, to how we show up in the communities we’re lucky enough to call home.

And it’s why we’re excited to announce a new partnership with the PNE for its new amphitheatre – the Freedom Mobile Arch, opening summer 2026. This partnership will see BCLC become the presenting sponsor of the open-air lawn area that we’re excited to call the “BCLC Backyard”. We hope that this will be a beloved local gathering place where people come together to experience music, art and culture— and to share memorable moments and make lasting connections.

Community venues like this one play a unique role in our lives. They’re places where strangers become friends, families come together, and people experience moments of shared awe and joy. Whether it’s the magic of a live performance, or a child’s first time seeing the stage lights rise, these are small moments that carry deep meaning.

They remind us that we’re not alone.

To extend this impact further, we’re also running a contest; the Greater Good Concert Experience . The contest’s grand prize is 10 tickets to the inaugural event of the PNE Amphitheatre, 10 BCLC Backyard tickets to a 2026 PNE Summer Night Concert and 10 BCLC Backyard tickets to a 2026 PNE Summer Night Concert for the winner’s selected B.C. Charity of their choice. We’re thrilled that the winner of this contest will be able to share this experience and support a cause that resonates deeply with them.

At BCLC, we don’t see human connection as an add-on to our social purpose—it’s an integral part of it. We know that when people feel connected—to each other, to their community, to joy—they thrive. And thriving individuals lead to thriving communities. Our success isn’t just measured in business metrics—it’s measured in the smiles, memories, and connections we help create. Introducing the BCLC Backyard and sharing access to its events is just one way we’re putting our values in motion.

Because when we help create joyful moments, we do more than brighten a day—we help strengthen the human bonds that hold our communities together.
