Wilfred Parnell thought it was an ordinary day running errands – that is, until he learned he won Set for Life’s top prize of $675,000.
“I found out at [Rupert Square Mall], after checking my ticket at Walmart which had an error message,” recalled Parnell. “I went down to the mall kiosk and that’s where I found out I won. The first thing that crossed my mine was ‘Awesome!’”
The Prince Rupert resident called his brother to share the news. “He was happy!”
Parnell plans to upgrade his truck and put some of his winnings towards his retirement.

Parnell purchased the winning ticket at West End Grocery on 2nd Avenue West and 8th Street in Prince Rupert.
