Saanichton Resident Buying New Truck and Boat After Winning $675K Playing Set for Life

John Hermsen rushed home after learning that he won Set for Life’s top prize of $675,000.  

“I checked my ticket on the self-scanner at the retailer, and then gave it to the retailer to check,” recalled Hermsen. “I went home right after I won to tell my girlfriend. I told her, ‘We’re set for life!’” 

With his winnings, the Saanichton resident plans to purchase a boat and truck and help his family. He also plans to travel to Belize or Fiji.  

On how it feels to win Set for Life’s top prize? 

“It’s surreal. This win will make things more comfortable.”  

The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven on Mount Newton Cross Road in Saanichton.
