Through a Request for Proposal (RFP), BCLC has selected Avison Young Commercial Real Estate as its professional real estate advisory firm to assist in the review, planning and delivery of BCLC’s office space requirements in Kamloops.
BCLC has enjoyed 31 years of success in Kamloops and looks forward to maintaining its head office in the city. The expertise of a real estate advisor will assist in determining a long-term solution for the Kamloops office to meet BCLC’s needs well into the future.
The current head office is over 50 years old and many of its mechanical, electrical and structural components are original to the building. These components are aging and will ultimately need to be replaced.
Avison Young and other potential vendors were assessed against a number of pre-determined measures to ensure that they were aptly qualified, including their experience with projects of this scope and competitive pricing.
The next steps will require Avison Young to assist in the development of a business case to determine BCLC’s potential options in Kamloops. BCLC will analyze these options to ultimately determine the most efficient and cost effective solution that will service us in the long-term, and make its decision public at that time.
BCLC’s head office houses its customer support call center, data centre, information technology and finance functions along with a significant portion of the security, human resources and executive team. BCLC also has a marketing and sales office in Vancouver, which it will continue to maintain.
