Will the Vancouver Canucks bring back a familiar face to turn the franchise’s fortunes around? On PlayNow.com, bettors are placing wagers on who will fill the vacant general manager (GM) role.

Laurence Gilman was the Canucks’ assistant GM from 2008 to 2014 and has been linked to the GM vacancy. Currently, 43 per cent of bets placed on PlayNow.com for the next Canucks GM are for Gilman, who opened at lofty 26.00 odds but has since catapulted to one of the favourites at 8.00 odds.

Gilman isn’t the only former Canucks executive on the list of candidates. Gilman worked under former GM Mike Gillis, whose odds of returning to his old role are listed at 50.00 on PlayNow.com.
