“I Couldn’t Believe All the Zeroes!”: Sidney Resident Scores $500K Playing Extra

John Sutton had some ‘extra’ exciting news to share with his family after winning the $500,000 Extra prize from the August 10, 2024 Lotto 6/49 draw. 

“I checked [the ticket] myself and I couldn’t believe all of the zeroes!” recalled Sutton. “I gave my ticket to the store manager and their computer froze.” 

The Sidney resident first shared the news with his daughter, who had just left for Regina the day before. “She almost fainted! I then showed my son, and he was very excited as well!” 

Sutton already had a trip to Hawaii booked, but thanks to his win, he will extend his visit. “Going to Hawaii is my happiest place!”

“I am very excited and grateful!” 

The winning ticket was purchased at the Save-On-Foods on Beacon Avenue in Sidney.
