While some people get the post-holiday blues after a trip, David Loncaric felt the complete opposite, as he learned he won $1,000,010 from the August 13, 2024 Lotto Max draw.
“I just returned home, and I was unpacking,” recalled Loncaric of the moment he realized he won. “I remembered I had this ticket to check. I didn’t believe it! I thought I was going to faint!”
The Vancouver resident, who checked his ticket using the BCLC Lotto! App, was most excited to share the news with his wife and family.
“I showed my wife, and then called my parents and family. They didn’t believe me!”
Loncaric is taking some time to decide what’s next but plans to book some “extra trips” including one to visit family in Australia.
Loncaric purchased the winning ticket at the Shell gas station on Main Street and E. 2nd Avenue in Vancouver.
So far in 2024, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $97 million from Lotto Max. Lotto Max is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays after 7:30 p.m. (PST).
