“It’s Unbelievable!”: Surrey Couple Score $500K from Extra

Dean Connolly drove away with more than a full tank of gas, after learning that he and his wife Veronica won a $500,000 Extra prize from the August 10, 2024 Lotto 6/49 draw. 

“At the gas station I checked on the self-scanner and I was so surprised,” recalled Dean. “I am used to seeing just $1 or a free play so this was a shock!”

Veronica didn’t believe Dean when he first shared the news of their win. “We looked up the winning numbers online,” said Dean. 

The Surrey couple plan to pay off its mortgage and help their children. 

On how it feels to win? 

“It’s unbelievable! This will be very helpful for us,” said Veronica. 

The winning ticket was purchased at Webster’s Corner Store on Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge.
