Susan Steenson returned home from the grocery store with an item that wasn’t originally on her list — a lottery ticket worth $75,000.
“I thought, ‘This isn’t real!’ I thought it was just an ad on the screen,” Steenson recalled after validating her BC/49 ticket at a Real Canadian Superstore.
The Kamloops resident originally purchased the ticket at the Save-on-Foods on Summit Drive for the March 30, 2024 draw, which to her surprise, netted her the windfall after matching 5/6+ numbers.
While Steenson has no immediate plans for her prize, she will “put it aside for now for something practical or fun” and would like to donate a portion of it as well.
On how it feels to be a lottery winner?
“Exciting and surreal!”
