Elizabeth Hanson returned home from the gas station fueled with happiness after learning the lottery ticket she purchased netted her the $500,000 Extra prize from the March 15, 2024 Lotto Max draw.
The Williams Lake resident was at home when she discovered her big win.
“I was sitting at the kitchen table and thought, ‘oh my gosh you have four numbers!’” recalled Hanson. “Once I saw I really had four numbers my granddaughter came over and scanned the ticket on her phone.”
Hanson then shared the news with her daughter, who was in disbelief.
“She reacted with ‘what?!’” said Hanson.
Hanson said the news of her win took a while to process but once it did, she thought, “Oh wow! What am I going to do?”
She looks forward to the happiness and fun that this win will bring for her and her family and has plans to share her prize with them.
Hanson purchased the winning ticket from the Mobil gas station on Lakeside Road in Williams Lake.
