Sun-filled days lie ahead for Kenneth Birch as he will soon be setting sail on a Caribbean cruise with his wife after winning a $1-million prize from the May 17, 2025 Lotto 6/49 draw.
The Lone Butte resident was at the Lone Butte General Store on Highway 24 — where he purchased the winning ticket — checking it, along with a few other tickets when he discovered he’d won big.
“I couldn’t believe it when I found out that I won,” Birch recalled. “I scanned it first and then had them scan it to tell me if it was right or not.”
Birch first shared the good news with his wife, who was in disbelief at first.
“She told me to bring the ticket to show her and once I did, she believed me and was really happy for me!”
Birch has plans to sail-ebrate his windfall over a birthday dinner for his wife. “It’s her birthday and I’ll order anything and everything we want,” he said.
In addition to a cruise, Birch also plans to treat himself to a new Ford truck.
