Wenwen Lu imagined what it would be like to win the lottery after seeing a photo of a previous winner. She doesn’t need to imagine anymore, after she scored a $500,000 Extra prize from the May 6, 2025 Lotto Max draw.
The New Westminster resident was at home when she learned she won, after using the BCLC Lotto! App.
Lu first shared the news with her son. “I told my son, and he said, “Mom, is it true?!”
While Lu is taking some time to decide how to spend her winnings, she plans to help her family. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her children.

Lu purchased the winning ticket at Chang Luck Smoke Shop located inside Crystal Mall on Kingsway in Burnaby.
