At an initial glance at his phone, Jarnal Billan thought he won $1,000 from the November 22, 2025 Lotto 6/49 draw. After taking a closer look, he learned there were a few extra zeroes on the screen, and he really won a whopping $1 million.
“I had thought I had only won $1,000,” recalled Billan. “I had only glanced [on the BCLC Lotto! App] and when I checked again, I realized it was quite a bit more!
The North Vancouver resident first shared the news with his wife. “She was ecstatic, we both couldn’t believe it!”
Billan plans to travel to Europe with his wife but hasn’t selected an exact destination yet.
On how it feels to win?
“It’s nice to have a cushion.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Chevron on Grandview Highway and Boundary Road in Vancouver.
