When out on a recent shopping trip, John Swanson was shocked to learn he scored a $500,000 Extra prize from the April 11, 2025 Lotto Max draw.
“I was in the store and was blown away!” recalled Swanson of the moment he realized he won. “The retailer checked for me on the scanner.”
The Richmond resident first shared the news with a good friend. “She was blown away as well!”
Swanson is originally from Ontario and is an avid sports fan – he watches hockey, football, golf, baseball and tennis.
He has “no plans yet” on how to spend his lottery prize but described his win as “life changing.”
Swanson purchased the winning ticket at the Shoppers Drug Mart inside Blundell Centre on No. 2 Road in Richmond.
