David Aksenchuk and Amber Little were in complete disbelief, after learning that they won $1 million from the October 22, 2025 Lotto 6/49 draw.
The Salt Spring Island residents used the BCLC Lotto! App to check their ticket. “I tried not to lose control of my bladder,” joked Aksenchuk.
“My family said, ‘Holy! Good for you!’” recalled Little after she first shared the news.
Aksenchuk shared that he plans to purchase a new car and save for retirement.
Little plans to save for investments and help her children.
The winning ticket was purchased at Moby’s Pub on Upper Ganges Road on Salt Spring Island.
So far in 2025, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $63 million in winnings from Lotto 6/49.
