Randall Dunn couldn’t believe his eyes after learning that he won a $500,000 Extra prize from the August 20, 2025 Lotto 6/49 draw.
“I was at the store, and I thought the machine malfunctioned,” recalled Dunn of the moment he realized he won. “I checked [using the self-scanner] three times and then took it up to the counter because I wasn’t sure!”
The Vernon resident was most excited to share the news with his husband. “He was in disbelief until he saw the claim slip. He yelled ‘yahoo!’ and then we did a little happy dance.”
Dunn shared he will celebrate with a nice dinner and plans to travel to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji next year.

“Amazing. It will make things easier as we work into retirement.”
Reimer purchased the winning ticket at the Chevron gas station on 32nd Street along the BC-97 in Vernon.
