Gary C. was sipping his morning coffee but what jolted him awake wasn’t the caffeine boost; it was learning that he won $1 million from January 24, 2026 Lotto 6/49 draw.
“I was at home drinking coffee in the morning,” recalled Gary. “I scanned the ticket and I saw the one and all of the zeroes. I didn’t believe it and then scanned [on the BCLC Lotto! App] to make sure I counted right. Then I went to the website to see where the winner was and it said Vancouver!”
The Vancouver resident then took the ticket to a grocery store. “I just scanned it to make sure.”
Gary shared he is taking some time to decide what to do with his windfall.
The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Hastings and Renfrew Street in Vancouver.
