Woo Jung K. was so excited about his lottery win, he woke up his wife to check his $500 ticket – but he soon learned he actually won a $500,000 Extra prize from the November 15, 2025 Lotto 6/49 draw.
“I was at home when I found out I won,” recalled Woo Jung, who checked his ticket on the BCLC Lotto! App. “I thought it was $500 and woke my wife up to look. I showed her and my daughter and everyone thought it was $500. Then we realized there was a Coquitlam winner and my win was actually $500,000!”
The Coquitlam resident plans to celebrate with a family dinner.
Woo Jung doesn’t have any specific plans for his windfall but said “it will be helpful!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Blue Mountain Market on Blue Mountain Street in Coquitlam.
In 2025, B.C. lottery players redeemed more than $51 million from Extra and $71 million from Lotto 6/49. Lotto 6/49 is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 7:30 p.m. (PST).
