Jeffrey B. was so shocked he froze in place, after learning that he won $500,000 from the December 26, 2025 Lotto Max draw, splitting a Maxmillion prize with another player in Ontario.
“I was in the mall and [the self-scanner] flashed $500,000,” recalled Jeffrey of the moment he realized he won. “I was motionless and I stuffed that ticket in my pocket and walked around the mall. It took me a while to come to the realization I had won, and I was happy!”
At the time of his prize claim, the Victoria resident hadn’t shared the news with anyone yet, but he plans on celebrating by treating his friends to dinner.
While Jeffrey doesn’t have specific plans for his winnings, he mentioned he might buy new skiing gear.
On how it feels to win the lottery?
“It feels great! A bit of disbelief.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Walmart in Hillside Mall in Victoria.
In 2025, B.C. lottery players redeemed more than $248 million from Lotto Max. Lotto Max is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays after 7:30 p.m. (PST).
