Douglas F. felt like he was in a cartoon after learning that he won a $500,000 Extra prize from the January 6, 2026 Lotto Max draw.
“I was at Mount Douglas Market and checked a few tickets,” recalled Douglas. “When I saw the $500,000 [on the self-scanner] I felt like a cartoon character. My eyes popped out of my head!”
The Victoria resident who enjoys painting and sculpting in his spare time, first called his wife to share the news. “She was so shocked, she was shaking.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Shelbourne Street and McKenzie Avenue in Victoria.
