Cornelio G.’s hands were shaking after he learned he won $500,000 from the December 23, 2025 Lotto Max draw, splitting a Maxmillion prize with another player in Quebec.
“My hands were shaking,” recalled Cornelio of the moment he realized he won. “I used a self-scanner, then called my son to confirm if it was a comma or period. He said it was $500,000.00!”
After the Whistler resident shared the news with his son, he gave him a hug.
Cornelio plans to pay off his mortgage and build a home in the Philippines.

“So happy. Really happy.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Otter Co-op on Lake Placid Road in Whistler.
