Andrey I. was too distracted to eat his burger after learning that he won $401,802.80 after matching six out of seven numbers, plus the bonus, from the January 9, 2026 Lotto Max draw.
“I went into Triple-Os to order lunch, which has one of the best burgers,” shared Andrey. “I ordered and then pulled out my wallet to check my tickets [on the gas station self-scanner]. I thought it was a glitch. When my order was ready, I sat down and my first thought was, ‘I can’t even eat this!’”
At the time of his claim, the Coquitlam resident hadn’t yet shared the news of his win with anyone but was excited to tell his wife. “I wanted to get the cheque and then come home with it, because there’s a part of me that doesn’t think this is real!”
Andrey plans to celebrate with a nice dinner and wants to travel to Hawaii for a family vacation.
When asked how it feels to win, Andrey said “I’m super excited!”
Andrey purchased the winning ticket at Real Canadian Superstore on Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam.
