“Humbled, gobsmacked and disbelief” are just a few of the words Edward M. used to describe how it felt to discover he was a millionaire after winning a $1,000,000 prize from the December 23, 2025, Lotto Max draw.
The Kelowna resident was at home when he discovered the good news during the holiday season after first checking his ticket on BCLC’s Lotto! App.
“I didn’t believe it,” said Edward.
Edward first shared the news with his kids, who were also in disbelief – one of them cried at the good news and the other reacted with pure excitement.
Edward plans to celebrate his windfall over a “family shindig” and looks forward to sharing the win with his children while also thinking about retirement.
“This win just means more time with my kids and being able to financially be there for them if they need it,” he said. “Retiring is also something I will be able to do now.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Walmart on Banks Road in Kelowna.
