Payal P. and Rahul S. have plenty to celebrate, after learning that they won a $500,000 Extra prize from the May 5, 2026 Lotto Max draw.
“I was on the way to pick up Payal,” recalled Rahul. “I checked the ticket on the [BCLC Lotto!] app. I still don’t believe we won, it’s so surreal.”
Rahul first shared the news with Payal. “I didn’t believe it. I thought he was joking. He sent me a screenshot and there was lots of disbelief,” shared Payal.
The New Westminster couple plan to have a celebratory dinner.
While they are still deciding what to do with their windfall, Payal said, “This is surreal. I still don’t believe it!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Express News on Belmont Street in New Westminster.
