Jackquiline and Waldemar S. are still in disbelief, after learning that they won a $500,000 Extra prize from the September 9, 2026 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Waldemar realized they won after scanning the ticket using the BCLC Lotto! App.
“I had to scan a few times, just to make sure before I called Jackquiline,” recalled Waldemar. “I never win anything, so it was hard to believe! I was so happy when I called her and she was too!”
The North Vancouver couple are still in shock and haven’t decided what to do with their windfall.
On how it feels to win?
“It’s unbelievable, honestly! We’re happy!” said Jackqueline.
The winning ticket was purchased at a lotto kiosk at Park Royal in West Vancouver.
So far in 2026, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $35 million from Extra and $52 million from Lotto 6/49. Lotto 6/49 is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 7:30 p.m. (PST).
