An ordinary day spent shopping for groceries turned out to be extraordinary for Pastora R. after learning that she matched 4/4 Extra numbers from the April 18, 2026, Lotto 6/49 draw, scoring her $500,000.
“I was in the store and checked my numbers for the $5-million [Classic Jackpot] prize,” recalled Pastora. “They weren’t my numbers so when I checked my ticket [on the self-scanner], I was really surprised!”
The North Vancouver resident first shared the news with others at the grocery store. “I made jokes with the lottery teller about being a winner!”
Pastora plans to celebrate by doing something fun with her friends. “We’ll go out and enjoy dinner.”
To spend her windfall, Pastora plans to put the funds towards purchasing a home and a car.

“I feel relaxed. It helps me in life and I hope to be able to help others.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Chevron on Main Street in North Vancouver.
