Odel P. checks his lottery tickets every few weeks and tried to scan a ticket, before asking the retailer to scan it. It turns out that a Lotto Max ticket from the July 3, 2026 draw scored Odel a $100,000 MAXPLUS prize.
“I check my tickets after a couple of weeks and I tried to scan the ticket,” recalled Odel of the moment he realized he won. “Then I took it to the cashier to have her scan, and she told me I won!”
The North Vancouver resident first shared the news with his wife. “At first she didn’t believe me!”
Odel plans to put aside some money to invest for his future.

“It still feels like I am in shock.”
The winning ticket was purchased at a lotto kiosk at Park Royal in West Vancouver.
