Cora B. had a few lottery tickets hiding at the bottom of her purse and decided to check them at a lotto kiosk while she was out grocery shopping. After scanning a few tickets, the final ticket she scanned from the May 1, 2026 Lotto Max draw scored her a $100,000 MAXPLUS prize.
“I had a few tickets to check. First one won $20, second won a free play, third won $1, fourth won nothing,” recalled the Sidney resident. “The fifth and last ticket I scanned had a draw date that was my wedding anniversary. The $100,000 flashed on the screen and I thought that it couldn’t be right!”
Cora was most excited to share the news with her husband. “He was speechless and was very, very happy!”
With her winnings, Cora plans to renovate her home and also plan for “some things that couldn’t be done before.”
Cora purchased the winning ticket at Thrifty Foods on Seventh Street in Sidney.
