Supporting community initiatives

In 2024, the City of Burnaby invested over $4.5 million from its share of provincial gambling revenue into key community infrastructure and services. A major investment of $1.8 million supported ongoing work at the Burnaby Lake Pavilion Spectator Area. This project is revitalizing essential parts of the site—extending the service life of the grandstand, bridge pier, dock, and ramps—while expanding banquet hall space and updating guardrails and other aging components to meet current building standards.

Nearly $1.7 million was used to fund the continued installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at civic facilities, including locations like the Rosemary Brown Arena.

The City also contributed $1 million to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s Proud History, Bright Future campaign to support Phase 1 of the hospital’s redevelopment.
