BCLC is proud to give back to the citizens of B.C. and help communities grow. Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants program.

In 2024/25, Elements Casino Chilliwack contributed to the Chilliwack community and economy in a variety of ways. Here are just a few.

Supporting community initiatives

In 2024, the City of Chilliwack allocated its share of provincial gambling revenue to support several local initiatives. Funds were directed toward Chilliwack Community Services programs, including Youth Outreach, Social Development, and Community Crime Prevention efforts. Additionally, a portion of the revenue was invested in road rehabilitation projects to maintain and improve local infrastructure.

Community crime prevention initiatives and infrastructure rehabilitation projects also benefited from this financial injection, enabling the city to improve and maintain critical infrastructure, including roads, public buildings, and recreational facilities. These projects not only enhance the quality of life for residents but also ensure that Chilliwack remains a vibrant and well-maintained community for years to come.

Each year, municipal and First Nation governments in B.C. that host a gambling facilitiy received a 10 percent share of net gambling income generated at those facilities. In 2024/25. 33 Host Local Governments across B.C. received $86.6 million in provincial gambling revenue to fund local projects and initiatives.
