BCLC is proud to give back to the citizens of B.C. and help communities grow. Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants program.

In 2024/25, Casino Victoria contributed to the View Royal community and economy in a variety of ways. Here are just a few.

Community benefits

In 2024, the Town of View Royal allocated its share of provincial gambling revenue from hosting Casino Victoria to a variety of municipal projects. These initiatives included:

  • Support for WestShore Parks and Recreation
  • Technology upgrades, including server replacements and improvements to information systems
  • Traffic signal and sidewalk upgrades along Island Highway
  • Street lighting improvements on St. Giles Street
  • Playground equipment replacement at Knollwood Park
  • Trail improvements at Glentana Trail
  • Public safety investments, including the replacement of a brush truck and installation of firefighting gear decontamination facilities

Victoria Hospitals Foundation

In 2024, BCLC proudly sponsored the Victoria Hospitals Foundation’s Visions Gala, a signature black-tie event that raised $2.75 million to support surgical innovation at Royal Jubilee and Victoria General hospitals. The gala, attended by more than 620 philanthropists, caregivers, and healthcare leaders, marked a milestone in the Foundation’s multi-million-dollar campaign to bring advanced surgical robotics and cutting-edge equipment to Vancouver Island.

In 2024, Casino Victoria supported a wide range of local organizations through charitable donations, in-kind contributions, and sponsorships. A total of $36,000 in cash donations was distributed to community groups
