BCLC is proud to give back to the citizens of B.C. and help communities grow. Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants program.

In 2023/24, RimRock Casino contributed to the Port Alberni community and economy in a variety of ways. Here are just a few.

Port Alberni Visitor Centre

In 2023, the City of Port Alberni allocated a portion of its provincial gambling revenue from hosting RimRock Casino to fund several vital community improvement projects aimed at enhancing tourism. 

The funding supported the Port Alberni Visitor Centre, a key resource for tourists seeking information and guidance about local attractions and activities. 

Additionally, the historic McLean Mill National Historic Site received funds to help preserve its rich heritage and provide an engaging experience for visitors.

Meals on Wheels Port Alberni Sponsorship

Meals on Wheels Port Alberni is a not-for-profit organization committed to delivering wholesome meals to seniors, as well as those living with chronic illness, disabilities, or recovering from medical treatment. RimRock Casino prepares over 5,000 meals annually to Meals on Wheels Port Alberni.

Did you know?

RimRock Casino partners with many local vendors, including Aines & Tyler, Dolans Gas and Heating, Alberni Landscaping, Mclean and Higgins and Alberni Valley Refrigeration. In 2023, RimRock Casino directly sponsored the Alberni Valley Bulldogs junior hockey club and made donations to the Alberni Athletic Association, Alberni Valley Rescue Squad, the SPCA and Sage Haven.
