BCLC is proud to give back to the citizens of B.C. and help communities grow. Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.'s Community Gaming Grants program.

In 2024/25, Chances Prince Rupert contributed to the Prince Rupert community and economy in a variety of ways. Here are just a few.

Community benefits

In 2024, the City of Prince Rupert allocated its share of provincial gambling revenue to support both community programming and infrastructure improvements. A portion of the funds was distributed as grants to local organizations, including $20,000 to the Prince Rupert Arts Council, $159,000 to the Lester Centre of the Arts, $158,788 to the Museum of Northern BC, and $15,000 to the Kwinitsa Railway Station Museum. Additional grants included $9,000 to the Prince Rupert Racquets Association and $30,000 to the Prince Rupert Special Events Society.

The remaining funds ($195,894) were invested in road paving as part of the city’s ongoing capital improvements.
