BCLC is proud to give back to the citizens of B.C. and help communities grow. Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants program.

In 2024/25, Elements Casino Surrey contributed to the Surrey community and economy in a variety of ways. Here are just a few.

Community benefits

In 2024, the City of Surrey received $2,800,962 from its share of provincial gambling revenue for hosting Elements Casino Surrey. These funds were allocated to capital projects including:

  • $2.5 million for Bear Creek Stadium Phase 2, which included upgrades to the athletics track and field event areas, such as new rubber surfacing and updated facilities for events like long jump, javelin, and shot put.
  • The remainder for the construction of Strawberry Hill Hall, a replica of a 1909 heritage building, now used as a childcare facility with 25 licensed spaces for children aged three to five. A natural play area was also added in the adjacent park.
