Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants program.

Polson Park
In 2024, the City of Vernon allocated $1.27 million from its share of provincial gambling revenue toward Phase 1 of the Vernon Creek Naturalization Project in Polson Park. This funding was part of a total project budget of $3.8 million, supplemented by a $2.53 million grant from the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund.
