We want players to enjoy themselves and keep gambling fun. To maintain a healthy gambling environment, our GameSense program empowers players and the public to make informed choices.
GameSense Advisors and GameSense Info Centres located within casinos and community gaming centres provide information on the odds of winning, how games work, when to stop gambling and how to recognize if gambling is becoming a problem As well, our GameSense program can make a difference by reminding players to set limits and honour their promises to themselves.
We also ensure that BCLC staff, the people who sell our products and gaming facility employees are properly trained and can access the appropriate resources to have knowledgeable conversations with players.
We're also committed to continuous improvement through the following activities:
- We analyse our interactions with players to see how we can better support healthy gambling decisions.
- We commission research to better understand various aspects of gambling-related behaviours.
- We help the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch deliver the Province's Responsible Gambling Strategy,.
- We collaborate with other jurisdictions in Canada, the US and internationally to stay on top of - and sometimes lead - best practices.
Responsible gambling is important to us. We strive to be on our game every day.
Public & Player Engagement
Public & Player Engagement We want to hear what you have to say. Whether you never gamble or you're a frequent player you're a valued stakeholder to us and a vital part of the community we serve. Your opinion counts.
We're in the entertainment business and we want our players to play for fun, not to make money. We developed GameSense to encourage informed play. Knowing how games work, the odds of winning, and dispelling myths about gambling are important steps to enjoying gambling for what it is: a game.
