Huei Chern Wei is looking forward to a dream trip to Japan after winning $2.5 million from the July 1, 2023 Lotto 6/49 draw. The winning ticket matched all six numbers along with a ticket purchased in Saskatchewan to split the $5-million Classic Jackpot.
“I scanned the ticket on a self-scanner and was so excited I had to phone my kids to come pick me up,” recalled Wei of the moment he realized he won at the Metrotown Lotto signature store. “I could not go home by myself!”
The Richmond resident was most excited to tell his kids about his win. “They were shocked — they didn’t believe me at first!”

The winning ticket was purchased at the BCLC Lotto kiosk inside Aberdeen Centre in Richmond.
