BCLC is proud to give back to the citizens of B.C. and help communities grow. Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants program.

In 2023/24, Chances Playtime Campbell River contributed to the Campbell River community and economy in a variety of ways. Here are just a few.

CR Live Streets

In 2023, the City of Campbell River allocated a portion of the provincial gambling revenue it received from hosting Chances Campbell River to support  a variety of community programs. $113,000 supported the CR Live Streets series, which featured fun family events and concerts that have been very successful in activating the downtown core. With this funding, the City was able to provide an additional CR Live Streets event in the summer.

Giving Back in Campbell River

During the holiday season, Chances Campbell River provided the Knights of Columbus with a $2,500 donation which supported 25 hampers for local families. The goal of the Hamper Fund is to ensure all are able to joyfully celebrate the season. 

Did you know?

Each year, municipal and First Nation governments in B.C. that host a gambling facility receive a 10 percent share of net gambling income generated at those facilities. In 2023/24, 33 Host Local Governments across B.C. received $94.5 million in provincial gambling revenue to fund local projects and initiatives.
