Kan Man Wong initially thought it was scam when he learned he won $500,000 from the April 24, 2023 Daily Grand draw.
“I used the [BCLC Lotto!] app to scan [the ticket],” recalled Wong. “Not believable, I thought it was a mistake, maybe a scam.”
The Vancouver resident first told his wife who had “mixed reactions” as she was shocked.
Wong plans to pay off his mortgage and spend more time travelling.

“Unbelievable. I’m breathing easier.”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Chevron gas station on Oak Street and 67th Avenue in Vancouver.
