Ariel L. was scrolling through his phone and saw that someone won a Lotto Max prize. This prompted Ariel to check his lottery ticket, and he realized he had won a 100,000 MAXPLUS prize from the August 18, 2026 Lotto Max draw.
“It was 6:30 a.m. and I was sitting at my dining table,” recalled Ariel. “I saw on a Facebook group someone had won $100,000. I took my ticket out of my wallet and checked it [on the BCLC Lotto! App] and saw it won $100,000!”
The Dawson Creek resident was most excited to share the news with his wife and son. “I woke up my son to tell him, since he was still sleeping. I told him I won the lottery and he thought I was faking it!”
While Ariel has no immediate plans to celebrate, he plans to visit the Philippines with his family over Christmas, or spring break.
