Nora G. was absolutely stunned, upon learning that she won a $100,000 MAXPLUS prize from the August 11, 2026 Lotto Max draw.
“I was in the kitchen at home when I found out I won,” recalled Nora. “When I saw the prize amount [on the BCLC Lotto! App] I was shocked.”
The Port Alberni resident first shared the news with her husband. “Once I told my husband, we waited a few days, then I let our kids know at my husband’s birthday dinner.”
Nora shared that her husband’s birthday dinner was their event to celebrate her win but also mentioned she might enjoy some margaritas following her prize claim.
Apart from paying off her mortgage, Nora also plans to help her kids with her winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Hyde Creek Road in Port McNeill.
