BCLC is proud to give back to the citizens of B.C. and help communities grow. Revenue generated by gambling goes back to the Province of B.C. and is distributed in a variety of ways, including to communities through Host Local Government payments and the Province of B.C.’s Community Gaming Grants program.

In 2021/22, Elements Casino Victoria contributed to the View Royal community and economy in a variety of ways. Here are just a few.

Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre

West Shore Parks & Recreation Society

In 2021, the Town of View Royal allocated a share of its funds it received for hosting Elements Casino Victoria to the West Shore Parks & Recreation Society. The not-for-profit received $918,156 to support various programs, services and facilities, including the Juan De Fuca Recreation Centre, the Centennial Centre for Arts, Culture & Community, various parks and trails, and a public golf course. 

This funding supported recreation opportunities to people in the community of all ages and abilities. 

Folktoria

BCLC is a proud sponsor of Folktoria, an annual multicultural celebration at Centennial Square in Victoria. It is a celebration that brings cultural organizations and dance groups together to perform free for a family audience. Formerly the Victoria Folk Festival, Folktoria is celebrating its fifth year. The two festivals combined have brought 30 years of arts and culture to the community.

Did you know?

Elements Casino Victoria has donated more than $20,000 to community-focused organizations. This includes the Goldstream Food Bank Society, Children’s Health Society of Vancouver Island and the Canadian Cancer Society in 2021.
