This error alert informs users that a transaction could not be completed due to an error.

Use Cases

Add this alert to pages where users are attempting to submit a form or complete a transaction that does not successfully go through due to internal issues.

Requirements

This alert lets users know their transaction could not be completed due to an internal system error. Pages with this alert should:

 

  • have information on what the user could do as a next step (ie. "try again later" or "contect customer service")
  • appear above and in close proximity to the CTA that would have helped the user complete the transaction

 

Errors caused by the user, such as incorrectly filled forms or missing fields, will be highlighted individually within the form. See below for an example.
