Jeffrey Scott was relaxing at home but immediately froze after learning he and his wife won the $500,000 Extra prize from the April 15, 2023 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Scott purchased the ticket with his wife, Mari Volkaert, and checked the ticket using the BCLC Lotto! App.
Scott and Volkaert first shared the news with family, who “didn’t believe us at first,” recalled Scott.
While it has no specific plans on how to spend its winnings, the Langley couple enjoys spending time with family and working around the house, especially in the yard.
On how it feels to win the lottery?
“It will make our life easier, that’s for sure,” said Volkaert.
The pair purchased the winning ticket at the On the Run in Aldergrove, on Fraser Highway and 264 Street.
