After discovering he was $75,000 richer from the April 15, 2023 BC/49 draw, Nanaimo’s Brenton Lalonde couldn’t contain his excitement.
Lalonde purchased the ticket from Petro Canada on Terminal Avenue North in Nanaimo and was at home with his wife when he discovered he won.
“I saw a lottery commercial and then decided to check my ticket,” he recalled. “I gave it to my wife to scan it on her phone and then I started vibrating!”
On how it feels to win?
“It doesn’t feel real. It’s surreal,” he said.
Lalonde looks forward to finishing some home renovations with a part of his prize.
